Another group with massive amounts of potential has sadly disbanded, as announced today on their official Instagram account. Read below to find out a little bit more about them as well as my thoughts:
Forming under Trivus Entertainment, the five member girl group officially debuted only November of last year with the track ‘Where U At?’ – an unconventional ballad with a heavy orchestra backing and a soft vocals. The MV gained traction due to its violent graphic imagery which sees a woman taking revenge against her cheating partner.
Before this however, the group (with 3 members at the time) treated fans to a pre-debut song back in February 2017 in the form of ‘Stalker’ – which had a surprising r’n’b flavour hook and a promotional 9 minute music video with a dark, ghostly horror vibe.
Consisting of members: Shinhye, Jayeon, Leeda and maknae twin sisters Hajung and Sojung, what separated them from other rookie groups is the fact they all had previous experience within modelling, acting and singing before their musical debut.
The group declared the disbandment earlier today but did reassure fans that they would individually promote solo within the company with this message:
It’s getting harder and harder to make it in the k-pop industry now, especially for those under much smaller music labels and as a fan of 1NB, I had hoped they could have persevered through at least for another year.
However, every member is very talented and I wish them the best of luck during future activities. They may not have lasted long but their enticing concept, catchy songs and wild MV’s will be memorable.
Thank you 1NB!
